Portrait of Number 2

This is a rare occasion as she never sits still enough to get a good shot.

Cicada

This was spotted at the back of our house.  I used a 50mm F1.4 @ f2 and only cropped and added vignette, no other edits were done apart from raw processing.

Rust on the Beach

Rusted fence along the beach again I like the square crop.

Wave

Here is another beach shot.  Looked good on the day nice big waves hitting the rocks.  The reflection is reduced by using a polariser.  I like the way it cuts reflections out of the water and the bottom of the pool can be seen.

Drift Wood

Taken at Woonona beach.  Maybe a bit oversaturated but I think it adds to it.

Small Water Fall

This is in the Royal National Park near Waterfall IIRC.  It was a rainy day and was interesting seeing not much at all.

I think this is in the National park south of Sydney.

Roll

I know that it is a toilet roll, but it is the shadow that was cast that caught my eye.

Barrier

It is amazing what we will use as a barrier and how effective it is in keeping us back.

This was from the Nowra air show for the 80th anniversary.

Lake Jindabyne

Back to landscapes! Not too many spider shots but there may be more in my library.

Trying something different, a square crop.  Looks good to me.  This was taken in the opposite direction to the sun setting, everyone else in the park was shooting the actual sunset, I thought this was better.

Spider

This might not be for all!

It was between our clothes line and the basket, and presented itself in an unexpected way.  We always get spiders here but not this big.

Around Parliament House

If I recall correctly, we were out for looking to see what the buildings in Canberra were like during earth hour.  One of our stops before the time was Parliament House and these sort of jumped out at me/

Comet C/2006 P1 McNaught

This was taken back in 2007 from the family farm not too far from Canberra.

It was the first comet to be this bright in over 40 years and was an opportunity I could not miss.

National Library

Here is the last image from Sunday last week, the same time as 18 minutes and National Museum.

The red and blue lights are from an ambulance going past at just the right moment, lucky timing!

I've added a form to add your email address to get a message when I have added a post, so feel free to sign up.

I am also tossing up offering my photos to purchase, please let me know if you think this is a good idea.

Get out and shoot.

18 Minutes

Here is my first attempt at a night sky with star trails.  It is an 18 minute exposure and I think it came out fairly good for a first attempt.

I took 10 images last night over 90 minutes so I think it was a successful outing.
Hopefully I can get some more regular updates now that Uni is finished for the semester and find some decent photos worth posting.  Trauling through 5 years of photos is not a quick task.

Reflections

I am going to try and post on average one a day.  Many will be from as early as 2005 (but they are fairly ordinary compared to the later ones)

Sea at Narooma

I made a big effort to get up early and catch a sunrise and this is one of the many I took.

Look for more of this series to come.
